Juniper Trust Christmas Fair
The Juniper Trust Christmas Fair is an annual event at Threlkeld CE Primary School. The Juniper Trust is a local charity that fund raises and carries out work in various parts of the world. At the moment they are rebuilding schools in Nepal that were destroyed in the devastating earthquake a couple of years ago.
The children plan the fair, advertising it to the children and run the stalls “by children, for children”. This year there was a variety of stalls including the Human Fruit Machine, Lucky Dip, Guess the Name of the Teddies, Nail Painting, Pin the Nose on the Snowman and craft, sweet-making and cake stalls.
It is always a popular event with the other younger children, who come in clutching their pennies to spend on whatever they like. No parents to tell them how to spend their money!
This year the class raised £139 for the Juniper Trust.
